Ephemera: things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short period of time. I was immediately hooked on the title because an idea came to my mind for binding this project. For years and years and years I have been annually attending to a bingo night where I have
collected the used bingo sheets because I was sure someday I would use them for something interesting. Binding the Ephemera edition of the Encyclopedia of Inspiration was a great opportunity to put those worthless bingo sheets to good use and turn them into the endsheets for my book. They also served as inspiration for decorating the spine.
Of course I have won nothing, not a single thing, not even a tie or a consolation prize… NADA! Every night for the past 5 years I say: “this is the last night I am coming” and for some odd reason I keep going back. A number of years back the food was amazing, now I can’t even say I go back for the food because it hasn’t been that great lately, so I will assume it is the so called FOMO (fear of missing out!)
The book has laced-in covers, hand sewn silk headbands and is fully covered in black goat skin with colored leather onlays.
